Voter Services Program and Committee

Chair: Maryann Kenney

Program Goal: to empower voters and defend democracy  through activities that enable and inform voters. The league has been doing this for over 100 years.

Committee Functions and Responsibilities:

• Voter registration events -  trained volunteers help eligible voters register, check their registrations and receive accurate, nonpartisan information about upcoming elections.
• Voter information cards – as part of state-wide activities we distribute bilingual cards throughout our communities directing voters to reliable sources of information on voting and promoting our belief in making voting simple, fair and secure.
• Vote 411.org – We are part of a nationwide effort to provide comprehensive, individualized information to voters. After entering an address voters can find specific information on their national, state and local races, including answers to nonpartisan questions submitted to candidates from all parties.
• Candidate forums – we provide a moderated forum in which local candidates respond to questions from their communities
